53rd East Linton Annual Art Exhibition/Competition
The exhibition is online only.
First Prize-£500 and 5 prizes of £100 for 5 runners-up.
In the 1960s East Linton was reported as a dying village and as a consequence, the Traders Association was formed in order to raise the profile of the community. In 1968 the idea of an art exhibition was drawn from the village’s former popularity with artists such as Arthur Melville, Robert Noble, Martin Hardie, John Pettie ( to name a few) who were natives or lived in East Linton. The judge for this first show was William G. Gillies and Stanley White, former and current Principal of Edinburgh College of Art at the time.
The show has been run by volunteers annually ever since and raises funds for the Community Hall in which it is normally held.
This year it will be an ONLINE exhibition for the whole of September 2021.
